Agenda for the ORIYI AGM - Saturday 12th July, Newbury
As usual, the AGM will take place during the lunch break of the yoga day in Newbury, in St Nicolas’ Church Hall. Everyone is welcome. Please come along since we have some important items to discuss, including election of officers, membership fees and affiliation to the new Iyengar Yoga Association (IYA). 1. Apologies for absence 2. 5. Election of officers If you would like to stand for office, please contact Philip Brown on 01635 35465, or email him at philip-brown@btconnect.com. 6. Affiliation to the Iyengar Yoga Association, IYA - The Light on Yoga Association (LOYA) and the BKS Iyengar Yoga Teachers’ Association (BKSIYTA) are in the process of merging to form the IYA. Historically ORIYI membership has included membership of LOYA, at a cost to ORIYI of £3 per member per year. The IYA affiliation will cost £5 per member per year. Should ORIYI affiliate, and if so, would an increased membership fee be considered value for money? 7. Membership Fees for ORIYI - We would like to grow the membership of ORIYI and hope that a larger membership will mean higher attendance at our yoga days, and therefore more income. If this theory holds true, we could significantly the membership fee. Now that our website is up and running, we could greatly reduce costs if members are prepared to get the newsletter online, and could therefore offer “online” membership for free. 8. ORIYI Constitution - How should we go about updating the constitution following the questionnaire response, and the formation of the Iyengar Yoga Association? (See questionnaire results on P6) 9.
