Because of the lack of officers present it was decided to postpone the AGM until the next Yoga Day – October 12th, in Reading.
Treasurer's Report:
ORIYI is doing well; the balance is up vs. last year at £2608.45.
We then discussed ways to spend some money:
- One suggestion was to pay for some advertising in due course for Sheila's new centre in High Wycombe - Philip proposed we allocate £500 - £1000 towards this. Tessa seconded. The new centre will open in September (see later article) and it was felt that donating towards advertising fell into one of the key aims of the Institute which is to promote Iyengar Yoga in our area.
- Another suggestion was to donate towards the John Evans appeal (to enable him to go to India to help Guruji with the 11 further volumes of the Astadala Yogamala project). It was proposed that we donate £200.00 now and we could always donate more in the future. This was carried unanimously.
Phil suggested that ORIYI send a message of support to the Committee for Unity group. We then had a short discussion about the concern that groups like ORIYI still function within the one organisation. If this was not the case it was feared that a lot of members would be lost to the National group. Phil offered to write a letter.

- February - Oxford - to ask Joe Burn to organise.
