Page 4 - Yoga Day with Sheila Haswell
I was fortunate enough to go to the day of yoga, in Newbury, taken by Sheila Haswell on June 29th. It was a day to remember. She took us through some hard postures as well as the easier ones, but she made the hard ones much easier by gradually taking us through them in stages and with props.

Virhabhadrasana 3 is one posture I have to force myself to practise, but Sheila has changed all that by teaching me to do it with help from a wall and two bricks. Her whole approach was to make all the postures likeable and to make them flow. She was very sensitive to all of us and dealt with our problems in a kind and positive way.

I am 78 and have eye problems so I am restricted at times. However, Sheila always found an alternative posture for me which was very beneficial. I hope she comes to Newbury again in the not too distant future.

I was delighted when I was told Sheila’s mother is Lillian Biggs. I have been taught by Lillian and I went to India on the same course as her in 1980. Both Sheila and Lillian share a high quality of understanding and excellence.
